German Counter-Strike organization Berlin International Gaming (BIG) is in serious discussion with British prospect Owen “smooya” Butterfield, according to multiple sources. It is expected that the two parties will come to an agreement this week, which would result in smooya replacing Niels "luckeRRR" Jasiek on the active lineup.

BIG made its first set of roster moves in February by replacing Kevin "keev" Bartholomäus and Nikola "LEGIJA" Ninic after playing all of 2017 with the same lineup. BIG finished third place in ESEA Mountain Dew League, qualifying the team for a spot in the playoffs, where it will attempt to rejoin ESL Pro League through promotion/relegation matches. Other popular names with them are the likes of Kinguin and Virtus.pro. Should smooya join, he would be unable to play with BIG in the MDL playoffs.

Smooya has played for Epsilon ever since being acquired from Team Endpoint last summer. Since then, smooya has played in multiple lineups as well as spent some time on the bench. Since January, Epsilon has played in multiple online tournaments but has failed to make any legitimate progress as a unit.

BIG could not immediately be reached for comment.
