Michael "hastr0" Rufail issued a statement regarding Hwang "EFFECT" Hyeon's absence from  Stage 3 of the Overwatch League and confirmed that the team will continue to support EFFECT.

The announcement lays bare that EFFECT returned home to South Korea in order to relax from the pressures of the Overwatch League. EFFECT had returned to South Korea in late April, after having played in every single match the Dallas Fuel had in the first two stages.

This announcement comes alongside concerns over player longevity, as Overwatch League players have been competing in Season 1 of the League since early January. Playing every single game is sure to cause anyone serious burnout, but Dallas Fuel was a team rife with controversy. After the release of Félix "xQc" Lengyrel, there were loads of negative attention on the team.

Things were only compounded further once Dallas Fuel announced it would release both Dong-jun "Rascal" Kim and Kyle "KyKy" Souder from the team. After that announcement, he voiced his unhappiness with the team and went back home to South Korea to be with friends and family.

According to the statement hastr0 made, the Fuel's staff will continue to ensure that EFFECT and the other players will be in a good state of mind when they make their return.
