Our Lord and Savior, Jeff Kaplan, joined Emongg's stream to talk about the massive success of Overwatch's Pink Mercy charity event. They were close to $10 million on May 17, so it's more than likely they smashed that amount and the community will be amazed at the final number.

Hurry up! You still have to the end of the day to grab the skin before the event ends.

It's amazing to see the community come together so quickly and strongly to support such a fantastic and worthwhile cause. For years, gamers have been seen as loners that don't care what goes on around them. They're too busy playing games instead of caring what's happening in the real world. This is a perfect example of gamers not only helping this cause, but absolutely smashing expectations.

While we are used to Jeff Kaplan appearing on forum posts answering questions and dropping bombs, he instead, was sharing his love of the community and their outstanding work this past week. Jeff Kaplan and the Overwatch team were stunned on how quickly the money was raised and the initial goal of $250,000 was met. This was even an idea of Blizzard before Overwatch's launch, but they couldn't figure out how to make it work.

It just goes to show the power of a caring community and Blizzard has been at the forefront of these communities for a long time.
