Blizzard wants to add at least six more teams to Overwatch League sometime within the second season, according to an interview with Activision Blizzard esports CEO Pete Vlastelica that was translated by PC Gamer

A Blizzard representative in February said: "We expect to begin selling additional expansion teams in the Overwatch League later this year. We have no further details to share at this time." Vlastelica clarified in an interview with German press that Blizzard would like six teams, two from the Americas, two from Asia-Pacific, and two from Europe and the Middle East.

The only specifics Vlastelica gave about cities were Paris, Berlin, and Amsterdam. Berlin in particular seems important to Blizzard, as Vlastelica said, "Germany plays an important role for us. This is particularly true of Berlin with its rich history of esports, founder scene, and liveliness. Add to this the demographic profile and the cultural significance of the city."

Overwatch League fans from around the world are hoping for a team of their own, and we might not have long to wait if the next six teams will be implemented in Season 2.
