Overwatch developer Bill Warnecke has confirmed that the AFK timing in the latest death match map, Petra, is too short, and the Overwatch team plans to adjust the timing in an upcoming patch or hotfix.

"We appreciate the feedback on AFK timings for Petra," Warnecke wrote on the game's forums. "We’ve been looking into this and are planning an adjustment to the timing in an upcoming patch or hotfix. I don’t have an ETA, but I wanted to let you know that we’re on it. Cheers."

Petra is much bigger than Château Guillard and makes it more challenging to find opponents. That offers a unique chance to sneak up on enemies and engage in 1-v-1 matches more often, but players are being flagged as inactive when they cannot find anyone with whom to spar.

This change will keep the integrity of Petra being a bigger map without flagging well-meaning players who are simply trying to find other players.
