The ESL Pro League will return to Odense, Denmark, for the Season 8 finals in December.
After previously hosting the Season 6 Finals in Odense, ESL announced its return to the city Monday with the Season 8 Finals.
"After competing for five weeks in online matches, starting Oct. 2, the best teams will compete in the Sparekassen Fyn Arena for the coveted trophy, a $1,000,000 prize pool, and a win counting towards the Intel Grand Slam," the post read.
ESL announced group stage matches will be held in front of a live audience for the first time. The group stage matches begin on Dec. 4-6, followed by the playoffs Dec. 7-9.
"The Danish crowd has proven their passion for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive as thousands of fans were cheering for their favorite teams in a sold out Sparekassen Fyn Arena. We already knew back then that we want to come back for more," ESL senior vice president of product Ulrich Schulze said in a news release.
