5 Best Top Lane Champions in League of Legends Patch 8.12

The top lane champion pool is relatively untouched in League of Legends Patch 8.12, outside of some Rumble and Yorick buffs, but the changes to items for top lane champions should have a large impact. Here are the best five champions to roll out in the top lane on Patch 8.12.

5. Renekton

Renekton has seen an increase in play since the changes to Essence Reaver. He spikes hard after Black Cleaver and even harder after finishing Essence Reaver because it allows Renekton to use his W twice per trade if done correctly.

That has given him a ton of extra burst damage and is a big reason as to why he will continue to be a strong choice.

4. Dr. Mundo

With only an item or two, Dr. Mundo is one of the most difficult champions to kill. He even has built in percent health damage and an AD steroid on his E that give him way more damage than a tank should have.

Although the full tank build will probably always be his best option, Dr. Mundo is certainly a candidate for Atma's Reckoning because his massive health pool will grant a ton of AD.

3. Camille

Camille doesn't need an introduction because she has been a top tier choice since release. What makes her so strong is the true damage component of her Q and the ability to shield enemy damage in lane.

Outside of lane, she is incredibly strong because her mobility and burst damage are usually enough to help her team secure kills. On the off chance they aren't, Hextech Ultimatum is still one of the strongest abilities in the game and can guarantee kills on high priority targets.

2. Singed

Singed has the highest top lane win rate on Patch 8.12 and does really well against the meta top lane champions. Being an AP champion Singed won't get any help from the new items coming in the patch and will lose access to Banner of Command (though that was never typically in his build path) and is therefore the second best top laner for Patch 8.12.

1. Irelia

Irelia is still one of the best duelists in the game and is probably the best if there is a minion wave nearby. She has everything a top laner could want: crowd control, damage reduction and a resetting dash move as well as tons of damage.

Irelia continues to be one of the most banned champions in the game and is a perfect option for Patch 8.12.
