The International 8 qualifiers are set to run from June 14- 25 with the open qualifiers from June 14-17 and the regional qualifiers from June 18-25.
Here are the five teams to watch during the qualifiers.
Fnatic finished 12th during the Dota Pro Circuit and was always a contender at the tournaments the team attended. The team have no tournament wins this season, but have two fourth place finishes at events like ESL One Katowice and more recently ESL One Birmingham.
This newer team in the CIS region, FlytoMoon, made some waves with its 5-6th place finish at StarLadder ImbaTV Invitational Season 5 and third place finish at EPICENTER XL where they beat Virtus.pro in the team's first big time event.
3. PaiN Gaming
PaiN Gaming should have a ton of confidence going into the South American qualifiers after beating Team Liquid twice during group stages at ESL One Birmingham along with finishing third at the stacked tournament. The team also finished second at WESG 2017.
VGJ.Storm made a brief run in the last events leading up to the end of the Dota Pro Circuit. The team finished ninth and it was in large part to its second place finish at MDL Changsha and the team's win at the GESC: Thailand Dota 2 Minor.
1. OpTic Gaming
OpTic Gaming came very close to getting an invite to The International 8 and with good reason. The team won StarLadder ImbaTV Invitational Season 5, finished second at ESL One Birmingham and was one game away from getting an invite at the China Dota 2 Supermajor.
