Cloud9 announced it will be benching Zachary "Sneaky" Scuderi, Andy "Smoothie" Ta, and Nicolaj "Jensen" Jensen, and will be bringing C9 Academy players Greyson "Goldenglue" Gilmer, Yuri "Keith" Jew, and Tristan "Zeyzal" Stidam onto C9's main lineup for the NA LCS summer split.

The team announced it would be adding the Academy players towards it's Week 1 lineup after they have been putting in an impressive performance in their past games. The new players will be filling in the spots of mid laner, AD Carry, and support. The roster will now consist of Goldenglue, Keith, Zeyzal, Eric "Licorice" Ritchie, and Dennis "Svenskeren" Johnsen.

Cloud9 fans voiced their concern for the move, as they questioned benching two members of Cloud9's core lineup. Many questioned the choice to bench Sneaky from the position of AD Carry, considering his dominating performance in League of Legends matches.

Cloud9 will be starting off the NA Summer Split against Clutch Gaming on June 16, where the two teams will be playing in a best-of-one.
