Fnatic removed star bot laner Martin "Rekkles" Larsson from the starting lineup Friday ahead of its EU LCS match against H2K. Fnatic will field two top laners with Paul "sOAZ" Boyer and Gabriël "Bwipo" Rau

Fnatic's League of Legends team director Joey "YoungBuck" Steltenpool announced the lineup change on Twitter, listing a starting roster notably lacking Rekkles.

Rekkles' current tenure at Fnatic began in 2015, and was extended when he re-signed to the team in November 2017. He's widely regarded as one of the best AD carries in the world, having earned himself the title of EU LCS MVP in April after a stellar spring split.

Because of changes in the current meta unfavorable to ADCs, star players the world over are having their starting positions revoked. In the NA LCS, Cloud9 benched Zachary "Sneaky" Scuderi, Andy "Smoothie" Ta and Nicolaj "Jensen" Jensen June 13, while SK Telecom 1 benched Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok ahead of its loss to MVP Wednesday.

Fnatic squares off against H2K Friday at 3 p.m. EDT.
