Janko "YNK" Paunovic was close to joining FaZe Clan as a coach before he decided to be the coach of MIBR, he said in an interview with HLTV.
YNk reveals he chose MIBR over FaZe and that the team wanted NiKo to replace boltz https://t.co/16bGyE4sZr— /r/GlobalOffensive (@redditCSGO) August 8, 2018
The position was proposed to him by Nikola "NiKo" Kovac, a former teammate and a good friend. FaZe Clan's current coach, Robert "RobbaN" Dahlstrom, was considering leaving and YNk was a potential option to take his spot.
When approached by Immortals general manager Tomi "lurppis" Kovanen, YNk said the organization was interested in him being the coach and NiKo joining the team in place of Ricardo "boltz" Prass. NiKo, though, was not interested in leaving FaZe, according to the interview.
In Atlanta during the ELEAGUE CS:GO Premier 2018, YNK sat down with the two teams to hear their pitches to why YNk should be the coach, he said. Afterwards, YNK said MIBR was an easy choice for him because of the team's attitude.
