Virtus.pro and Ferzee both qualified for the first Major of the 2018-2019 Dota Pro Circuit Tuesday.
VP and Ferzee became the first CIS teams to qualify for the Major after going through the closed qualifiers. VP qualified first after taking a 2-1 victory against Team Spirit, and Ferzee qualified second after winning 2-0 against the same team.
The Kuala Lumpur tournament will be the first Major of the revamped Dota Pro Circuit system. The new system prioritizes good performance at DPC tournaments, as Valve will no longer be giving out direct invites to the biggest Dota 2 tournament in the world, The International. This means in order to qualify, teams will have to earn points by placing at Minors and Majors. The International 9 will take place in Shanghai China.
The Kuala Lumpur Major is the first of the Dota Pro Circuit and will feature 16 of the best Dota 2 teams around the world competing over a $1 million prize pool. It will take place from Nov. 9-18.
