Blizzard has started to send warning emails to Overwatch players that use third-party programs like Visor and Pursuit and inform them of a permanent ban if they continue.

While it has been known for some time that programs outside of Blizzard's realm were not permitted, most assumed programs like Pursuit which shows a more in-depth look at stats and figures after Overwatch matches were acceptable.

It seems Blizzard doesn't care either way. As stated by Tom Powers, community manager, "Correct both of those applications are NOT permitted. Thank you." No specific explanation was given but it explains the emails people have been receiving. Luckily, many are receiving simple warnings which allow players to remove the programs before being banned.

In the meantime, the community has a fun time discovering new exploits.

UPDATE 9:58 p.m. EDT

A Pursuit employee has posted a response, "This definitely caught us off guard as our partnerships with OWL and World Cup teams involved Blizzard approval. We are reaching out to our contacts right now to better understand the situation."

The situation could just be a misunderstanding.
