Evil Geniuses became the first North American team to qualify for the Dota 2 Kuala Lumpur Major.

​​Evil Geniuses beat compLexity Gaming at the Kuala Lumpur North American qualifier to earn a spot in the Major. They are the first North American team to qualify and will be joined by two other teams from the qualifiers to make up the three North American slots in the ​Dota 2 Major. 

The three European teams that qualified for the Majors were decided Thursday, too. Alliance, Team Secret, and Ninjas in Pyjamas ​all qualified for the Kuala Lumpur Major through the European qualifiers. 

Two South American slots went to paiN Gaming, Virtus.pro and Ferzee qualified through the CIS qualifiers, and PSG.LGD, Vici Gaming, and Team Aster qualified from the China qualifiers. 

The Kuala Lumpur Major is the first Major of the new 2018-2019 Dota Pro Circuit season. The grand finals of the Major will take place Nov. 16-18 and has a prize pool of $1 million.
