Swedish Counter-Strike players Markus “pronax” Wallsten and Mikail “Maikelele” Bill are exploring international options together, according to multiple sources. Maikelele and pronax both play for Chaos Esports Club on a full Swedish roster, but will leave should an opportunity present itself.
Chaos Esports Club, formerly known as Digital Chaos, entered the Counter-Strike scene in May with the signing of “Enyoy.” The original roster included Maikelele, pronax, Jacob "pyth" Mourujärvi, Aleksandar "jayzaR" Zarkovic, and Mattias "benny" Rosback. Since that original signing, pyth, jayzaR, and benny were replaced by Fredrik "FREDDyFROG" Gustafsson, Joakim "Relaxa" Gustafsson, and Niclas "PlesseN" Plessen. Both lineups struggled to qualify for international events and were knocked out in the early stages of the FACEIT Major: London Open Qualifier.
With two failed Swedish lineups, it appears Maikelele and pronax want to take a different route by playing in a mixed international lineup. Pronax is a three time Major champion with Fnatic but has struggled since 2015 to find his place at the top of the game as an experienced and tactical in-game leader. Maikelele has had success on multiple rosters throughout his CS:GO career, including a semifinal appearance at DreamHack Cluj-Napoca in 2015 and winning Starladder StarSeries Season 2 as a stand-in for Ninjas in Pyjamas.
Chaos Esports Club could not initially be reached for comment.
