Ex-NBA player and two-time champion Chris Bosh joined Gen.G as the organization's player management advisor, the esports organization announced Wednesday.

Bosh will serve as a mentor, sounding board, motivator and advisor for Gen.G's players across multiple titles, including League of LegendsPLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS, Heroes of the Storm, Clash Royale, and Overwatch, in which it owns the Seoul Dynasty. In that capacity, he'll share the experience gained over a storied career that can claim multiple NBA championships and an Olympic gold medal.

Bosh told USA Today in an interview that the role came about as a result of his relationship with Gen.G co-founder and vice chairman Phillip Hyun.

"We talked a lot and were just hanging, and he said, 'Why don’t you come see what it is we’re doing with Gen.G?'" Bosh said. "I took my kids to watch, and it was pretty cool. Phillip asked if I wanted to become involved in some sort of way, and it just came together."

Bosh previously met with the Seoul Dynasty in June to speak about motivation. This new role will function as an extension of that talk.

Gen.G's League of Legends team is currently competing in the League of Legends World Championship, which entered its group stage Wednesday.
