​PUBG Corp announced the first professional North American PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS league, the National PUBG League, on Wednesday in conjunction with esports organizer OGN. 

​​​PUBG Corp also announced the ​PUBG Europe League, which will be operated by StarLadder. Professional matches will be played in first-person on Erangel and Miramar. 


"Today we’re excited to to officially announce that professional leagues are coming to PUBG! The National PUBG League (NPL) in North America and the PUBG Europe League (PEL) in Europe are pro-level competitions for the 2019 season, and are the first major steps in our announced 5-year esports plan. These leagues will be part of a global league structure that begins in January, where teams will compete locally in a three-phase system to win prize money and qualify for global tournaments and championships. Teams in North America will compete for a regional annual prize pool of $1 million while European teams will have an annual prize pool of €1 million," PUBG Corp said in a Steam post.
