Team Liquid has dropped out of the DreamLeague Minor and has been replaced by Team Lithium, the team announced Thursday.
Liquid dropped out on Thursday, close to three weeks before the start date. Teams that have qualified for the first Major of the season are barred from competing in the Minor, as winning will guarantee a spot at Kuala Lumpur. Team Liquid was widely considered the favorite, but has now dropped out due to "health-related reasons".
Unfortunately we will not be attending the DreamLeague Minor at the end of this month for health-related reasons.— Team Liquid (@TeamLiquid) October 11, 2018
GLHF to the teams still attending!
This puts a dampener on Team Liquid's start in the 2018-2019 Dota Pro Circuit season. A recent, possibly related issue is that Team Liquid's coach reportedly stepped down. Team Liquid will be replaced by Team Lithium, as DreamHack announced Thursday.
Team Liquid and OG, two former The International champions, have now both opted out of the first Major/Minor.
