Jonathan "Reinforce" Larsson will not appear as talent during the upcoming Overwatch League Season 2, the former player-turned-caster wrote Sunday on Twitter.
Reinforce wrote that following his time on the desk at the Overwatch World Cup, he had not been offered a talent contract with the Overwatch League, effectively ending his time as a member of the talent in the league.
I had an amazing time this weekend, but I'm sad to announce this is the end as I've not been offered a talent contract for @OverwatchLeague 2019.@PlayOverwatch is the best thing to ever happen to me. Thank you to my fantastic co-workers, and my lovely fans. You made me happy.— Jonathan Larsson (@Reinforce) November 5, 2018
Reinforce's time with Overwatch stretches all the way back to February 2016, when he competed in the first ESL Community Cup Europe. After playing for several teams in Overwatch's early days, he joined Rogue's first Overwatch lineup.
At the end of his time on Rogue, Reinforce performed his first work as an analyst at the 2016 Overwatch World Cup. He continued juggling play and analysis after moving to Misfits in December 2016, and has played on each iteration of the Swedish national team.
He transitioned into full time analysis during the inaugural season of the Overwatch League and became most well known in that capacity.
Reinforce ended his tweet by expressing his gratitude to those who had supported him.
"(Overwatch) is the best thing to ever happen to me," he wrote. "Thank you to my fantastic co-workers, and my lovely fans. You made me happy."
