Fnatic became the first Dota 2 team to qualify for the Chongqing Major after defeating TNC Predator. The second team to qualify for the Major was TNC Predator. 

​​The Chongqing Major Southeast Asia closed qualifiers took place from Sunday to Tuesday. In the winner's finals between Fnatic and TNC Predator, which ended 2-1 and named Fnatic as the first ​Dota 2 team qualified for the Major. 

TNC Predator then played a game against Mineski to decide the second team to qualify for the Chongqing Major. It beat Mineski 2-1 to earn second place in the closed qualifiers and the second spot as a qualified team for the Chongqing Major.

Qualifiers for the remainder of the regions will be done by Friday.

StarLadder ​announced the Chongqing Major would be the second Major in the 2018-2019 Dota Pro Circuit season. It will be held in Chongqing, China and feature a prize pool of $1 million.
