Alliance qualified for the Major after winning a 2-0 series against The Final Tribe. Alliance has been somewhat absent from the Dota 2 scene in the last few years, but after a performance at ESL One Hamburg, it's clear the team is making a comeback. The team joins both Team Liquid and Team Secret at the Major while filling the last possible European qualifier spot.
16 Dota 2 teams will attend the Chongqing Major, and as of now, 15 have already qualified through the various regional tournaments. One spot remains open, which will be filled by the winner of the Bucharest Minor.
The Chongqing Major has a prize pool of $1 million in addition to 15,000 DPC points and is scheduled to run from Jan. 19-27.
