5 Best Mid Laners in League of Legends Patch 8.24

League of Legends Patch 8.24 included many changes to mid laners. As such, here are the five best mid laners in League of Legends Patch 8.24

5. Karthus

Karthus abused the changes to Dark Harvest in Patch 8.23 but still remains a strong pick even after the rune received adjustments in the most recent League of Legends patch. Karthus benefits with the nerfs to the most mobile mid lane champions in Akali and LeBlanc, and one of his biggest strengths comes from his ability to help his teammate from anywhere on the map through his ultimate ability.

4. Kassadin

While the two strongest mid lane assassins received nerfs in the most recent patch, Kassadin becomes one of the most viable champions to take in the mid lane due to his upfront damage and mobility as an assassin. With his shield and ultimate ability, he can jump on immobile carries with a bit of extra defense or use these abilities as a way to escape enemies by jumping over walls.

3. Rumble

Rumble has recently become a hidden gem for players to take in the mid lane with his high base damage on his Q and E at rank 1. With Electrocute, he excels in mid lane and has a surprisingly large amount of burst damage at his disposal. Rumble is also great at prolonged fights, and his ultimate ability can turn a team fight if well placed.

2. Aatrox

The only change Aatrox received in Patch 8.24 was a slight change to his damage output of his Q against jungle monsters, so the champion retained much of his strength from previous patches. As a result, many players have recently begun taking Aatrox in the mid lane due to match ups often falling in his favor. As a bruiser with decent mobility, he trades well with ranged mages who often rely heavily on mana resources, allowing him to stay in lane when they return to base.

1. Lissandra

Lissandra has been a strong pick for the mid lane for several patches now due to her strength against dominant assassins. LeBlanc and Akali, two of the more menacing threats, received significant nerfs in the most recent patch, but Lissandra remained unchanged since Patch 8.23, which keeps her as a viable option for the mid lane due to her strong wave clear and escape options, as well as her ability to lock down enemies looking to jump on her and fight from close range.
