The Game Awards had many categories, but most are tuning in for the different esports awards. 


Here are all the different winners in the esport categories. 

The Game Awards - Best Esports Team

Cloud9 won the award which is no surprise after the team won a CS:GO Major, London Spitfire won the first Overwatch League championship, and the League of Legends roster made it to the semifinals.


The Game Awards - Best Esports Game

Overwatch won for the best esports game after a successful first season and some impressive viewership for the grand finals.  


The Game Awards - Best Esports Event 

The League of Legends World Championship, where Invictus Gaming won a title for the Chinese market for the first time ever, won the award. 


The Game Awards - Best Esports Host

Eefje "Sjokz" Depoortere walked with the award after another stellar season as the EU LCS main desk host. She has​ now become a freelancer and will continue to work for the newly named LEC. 


The Game Awards - Best Esports Coach

Bok "Reapered" Han-gyu won the best esports coach of the year after an absurd year that saw Cloud9 take 10th place at one point before reaching the semifinals at worlds. He had multiple benchings of star players that many questioned before it turned Cloud9's trajectory around.


The Game Awards - Best Esports Moment

Cloud9's victory at the ELEAGUE Boston Major over FaZe Clan was almost a year ago. At the end of January, Cloud9 did the unthinkable and won a Major for the first time and was the first North American team to ever win a Valve Major.
