How to play two players in Smash Bros Ultimate is imperative for a friendly match. Hell, the game is designed to be played with friends, family, even enemies should the moment arise. So to play it without an opponent is a true travesty. Here's how to play two players in Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Played Smash Ultimate with friends irl and it was the first time I had actual fun with the game. Glad it's still rad as a couch multiplayer game.— Kevin Jezuit (KJez) (@kevyj12321) December 26, 2018
How to Play Two Players in Smash Bros Ultimate
Starting a game of Smash Bros. Ultimate is fairly simple. From the main menu, select the "Smash" option, then select "Smash" again. The next screen will allow player one to adjust the game's rules and settings to both players' content.
Once the rules are set, player one can advance to the character select screen. At that screen, each player must select their controller.
Players with a single joycon should hold the controller horizontally and press the SL and SR buttons on the top of the controller. Players using both joycons should hold them vertically and press the L and R buttons on top.
Players using the Pro Controller should press the L and R buttons on top, as should players using GameCube controllers.
Once controllers have been selected, players must select their fighters. If all fighters are selected, players will be able to proceed to map selection. Choosing a map will start the battle.
