Smash Ultimate Patch 1.3.1 supposedly came out Tuesday, bringing the character Wendy to Smash Ultimate in a surprise release. But did it really? Here's everything you need to know about the patch.
Smash Ultimate Patch 1.3.1: Everything You Need to Know
The headlining change in Smash Ultimate Patch 1.3.1 is the addition of Wendy O. Koopa, a character returning from Smash for Wii U. In that game, Wendy was an alternate costume for Bowser Jr., riding around in his vehicle with a new paint job. According to several videos posted to YouTube on Tuesday, she has now arrived in Smash Ultimate...
Except that all those videos are part of an elaborate prank by influencers in the Smash community. Influencers including Alpharad and IzawSmash published videos pretending Wendy had been added to the game. In reality, Wendy has been in Smash Ultimate since release as an alternate costume for Bowser Jr., same as she was in Smash 4.
The real Smash Ultimate Patch 1.3.1 has yet to be released by Nintendo, but it's safe to say Wendy won't be in it.
