Prestige Points and new prestige edition skins— winter wonder moobeat (@moobeat) January 10, 2019
"TL;DR: Starting in 9.1, we’re introducing a different type of prestige skin that stays in the store until the end of the year and is unlockable with new Prestige Points."https://t.co/DLjaJ74D52 pic.twitter.com/jWgtF9PIlN
How to Unlock Prestige Skins
Beginning in Patch 9.1, the prestige system will see slight changes for the new year. Players can now unlock prestige edition skins from the store with Prestige Points or in a similar fashion as the previous prestige skins, which will be through unlocking the skins with event tokes acquired through missions.
Prestige Points will be available from bundles with Masterwork Chests but will lack the random factor of Gemstones. Three bundles will be available at launch, although the League of Legends developer stated it will seek to add more ways for players to collect Prestige Points.
Prestige Skin Availability
The new system will kick off in League of Legends Patch 9.1 with the release of Blood Moon Aatrox Prestige Edition and will feature the upcoming prestige skins in store for a year. The skins will expire on Jan. 31 of next year.
The prestige skins will continue to feature the gold-and-white color patters, with the possibility of a few unique accent designs. The next prestige skin will feature a golden variant for Firecracker Vayne during the Lunar Revel event.
