FIFA 19 Team of the Year Cards: Ranking Defenders Varane, Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, Van Dijk and De Gea

To round out the line up for the 2018 Team of the Year, defenders such as David De Gea and Sergio Ramos join the bunch. The forwards and midfielders have been announced and while they excited fans of Ultimate Team, the defenders don't disappoint either.

This being said, here is a ranking of all five defender's cards and their prices:

5. David De Gea - GK (Price: 790,000)

David De Gea starts this list an impressive and deserving cards.

97-rated TOTY card for the Spaniard comes just after a 2018 season where he was the rock of Manchester United's defense. He had achieved 22 clean sheets last season for the Red Devils in just 46 games. This type of performance clearly shows he is good enough to make the TOTY in FIFA 19.

4. Marcelo - LB (Price: 1,099,000)

The only fullback to make the list, Marcelo joins the team as the first of three Real Madrid defenders.

His 94-rated card ranks the lowest among all of the Team of the Year players, but he still provides Ultimate Team fans with a monster LB card.

3. Virgil Van Dijk - CB (Price: 1,560,000)

Virgil Van Dijk's performance just this season has been massive for Liverpool. Fourteen clean sheets in 21 games with a goal and assit at hand, the Dutch man has been a big part of the Red's PL championship push this season.

Van Dijk's base card at the start of the season in Ultimate Team was already criminally low, but fans should expect a needed upgrade in this years Rating Refresh.

2. Raphaël Varane - CB (Price: 1,760,000)

The second of the three Real Madrid defenders to make this list is Raphaël Varane.

His trophy shelf looks mighty fine in 2018, being both a Champions League winner and a World cup winner with France. The fastest of the 3 CBs, Varane proves the much needed pace along with strength when it comes to defending.

1. Sergio Ramos - CB (Price: 2,200,000)

Finally, the most expensive Team of the Year defender comes in the form of Real Madrid CB Sergio Ramos.

The Spanish international put up yet another impressive season with Los Blancos, being their dominate force in the back line. His 97-rated TOTY card comes with insane stats for a CB such as 89 dribbling and 98 defensive.
