Sebastian Stepien, Cyberpunk 2077 head writer, has left developer CD Projekt Red to become a creative director for Blizzard.
Stepien began his time with CD Projekt Red in 2006, when he joined as a senior dialogue writer working on the first The Witcher game. He remained a part of the Witcher creative team for the next 12 years, becoming a lead story designer in 2010 and a creative director three years later. Konrad Tomaskiewicz, Mateusz Kanik and Stepien were the three creative directors on The Witcher 3, the developer's biggest commercial and critical hit to date.

Stepien was working on Cyberpunk 2077 when he left CD Projekt Red. It's unclear whether writing work is still underway on the game as most of the game's narrative appears set at this point.
Neither Stepien nor Blizzard have made public what he expects to work on when he moves to its California office.
