​Is Resident Evil 2 multiplayer? The game features two characters that can be played in the game, but is there an option to play with a second player?

With two different characters to play as, fans might be under the impression there is a way to play with a second player as the different characters in a multiplayer mode. There is currently no way to play a multiplayer mode in Resident Evil 2. 

The two different characters, Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield, are controlled by the player at different times. 

Playing as the different characters will help unlock ​various trophies and achievements in Resident Evil 2.
