When is Baptiste Coming Out?

When is Baptiste coming out? Overwatch players have had some time to familiarize themselves with Hero 30 on the PTR. When will the ex-Talon combat medic finally arrive on the live game?

When is Baptiste Coming Out?

As of right now, we can only speculate on when Baptiste will be released. Blizzard has not given an official announcement of Baptiste's release date. Typically, Blizzard monitors new character on the PTR and patch any errors reported or balance the hero as necessary. This lasts for around maybe three weeks, so perhaps Baptiste will arrive to the live game by the last week of March. Once he is released, there will also pass some time before players can use Baptiste in competitive games. Thus, players should expect Baptiste to be fully playable by early April.

Speaking of April, at its latest, Baptiste should be released by the time the yearly Archives event begins. Maybe he will be released alongside a new map that has been hinted on.

Among professional players, Baptiste is already considered to be a game changer. Houston Outlaws players Jake "Jake" Lyon and Austin "Muma" Wilmot said in a post-game press conference for the team that they believe Baptiste's Immortality Field will significantly hinder sniper heroes, while the Amplification Matrix could bolster the viability of Orisa compositions.

UPDATE (March 13 4:08 p.m. ET): Blizzard announced Baptiste will be released in Overwatch on March 19.
