The Los Angeles Valiant parted ways with head coach Byungchul Moon, the team revealed Monday.

Valiant general manager Michael Schwartz released a short statement alongside the announcement on the Overwatch League website.

"We want to thank Coach Moon," Schwartz said, "for his contributions to the Pacific Division and Stage 4 Championships achieved by the team in 2018. We wish him the best in the next stage of his career."

Assistant coach Mike “Packing10” Szklanny will step in as interim head coach while the team seeks out a permanent replacement. Warsi "Stoop" Waris and Dongsu Shin will remain as assistant coaches.

Moon joined the Valiant in February, 2018, months before the Overwatch League got underway. Under his leadership, the team finished second in the Season 1 regular season, beat the New York Excelsior to claim the Stage 4 championship and fell at third-fourth in the post season.

Those fortunes have reversed completely, as the Valiant opened the season with one of the worst records in the league. The team is 0-7, losing every match it's played to date.
