Marshawn Lynch Overwatch made a surprise appearance at the Blizzard Arena on Friday. The All-Star, Super Bowl-Winning NFL running back also known as "Beast Mode" joined the San Francisco Shock as well as his own kids as they walked on stage for the Shock's California Cup match against the Los Angeles Valiant.

Marshawn Lynch has played for the Buffalo Bills, Seattle Seahawks, and the Oakland Raiders during his tenure in the NFL. He is most known for being a dominant runner, media antics, and his love for Skittles.

Lynch is actually an investor in the Shock's parent organization, NRG. NRG has multiple other celebrity investors, including the owners of the Sacramento Kings, MLB star Alexander Rodriguez, NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal, former New York Giant Michael Strahan, and musicians Tiesto and Jennifer Lopez.

In the Battle for California, the Shock continued their recent dominance over the hapless Valiant. The Shock won in a decisive 4-0 victory and retained the California Cup. They continue their rise after a successful Stage 1, while their rivals the Valiant remain winless.

Friday proved to be an eventful day at the Blizzard Arena. Hong "im37" Junui made his debut for the Toronto Defiant barely a month after he first entered the NA Contenders scene. There was also some controversy over the use of the "ok" symbol at the OWL.
