A video game based on the hit horror series "A Quiet Place" will launch next year, World War Z publisher Saber Interactive announced Tuesday.

The game, developed by Illogika Games and Ep1t0me Studios, will be a "new single-player, story-driven horror adventure" called A Quiet Place. The story won't be a direct sequel to the "A Quiet Place 2," and will instead tell "an original story" set in the same universe.

The first "A Quiet Place" movie, released in 2018, followed a family trying to survive in a post-apocalyptic world infested with alien monsters incapable of sight but possessed of extraordinary hearing. It met critical and popular success, leading to a sequel released earlier this year.

"This first official video game set in the terrifying A Quiet Place universe will deliver an original story and gameplay that captures the compelling suspense, emotion and drama for which the series is famous," Saber said in a statement.

Illogika was founded in 2009 by veterans from Behaviour Interactive, Eidos Montreal and Ubisoft. It released the action-puzzle game Subaeria in 2018 and has worked on a handful of mobile and VR games.

Ep1t0me is an Austin, Texas-based studio. The "A Quiet Place" game is the only project listed on its website.

No further details about the game have been revealed, but more information is expected later this year.
