AC Valhalla has the impeccable sword, Excalibur, available for players looking to showcase their regal prowess.

Medieval fantasy fans should know the name and story of the great sword Excalibur by heart. Once wielded by none other than King Arthur, himself, and said to only be used by the rightful king of Britain. The original tale recalls Arthur pulling the sword from an anvil in a stone. This act—foretold by the wizard Merlin—would name the then-teenager as the rightful heir to Uther Pendragon. From there, accounts are fuzzy. Some say that Arthur tossed Excalibur away into a lake where a single hand rose to catch it. Others deny that Excalibur was the sword in the stone, at all, and that, upon breaking it in combat, Arthur was given Excalibur by the mysterious Lady of the Lake.

Here's where to find it in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla.

AC Valhalla Excalibur Location

It should be noted that Excalibur is meant as endgame content. Players likely won't be able to get their hands on it until they've completed most—if not all—of the story. The sword is guarded by several heavily armed and dangerous Zealots and, when picked up, will already be close to its most powerful form.

Players can find Excalibur in a system of underground caves that bears an entrance west of the legendary Stonehenge in Hamtunscire. It will present itself as a small crack in the stone near a pond. There are no enemies inside, only obstacles. The sword will be standing in the middle of twelve pillars—three guesses as to what this is supposed to represent.

To lay hands on this mythical weapon, players need to collect eleven tablets hidden around ancient Britain. Seven of these can be picked up by raiding the "Treasures of Britain" marked locations while the other three need to be picked off the bodies of Zealots. Players will know the marked locations as they bear a symbol in blue with a three-pronged crown. When they get close, they should spot some ogham-like markings which can be read to obtain more information about the tablet.

The marked locations are:

  • Grimes' Grave
  • Cavern of Trials
  • Santlache Mine
  • Old Cellar
  • Wiccan's Cave
  • Deoraby Spar Cavern
  • Red Lichen Cavern
  • Wocig

Specific Zealots are:

  • Woden—normally found patrolling the roads in Cent.
  • Heike—commonly found patrolling Essexe.
  • Hrothgar—patrolling south-eastern Suthsexe.

Once found, simply return the sword and place each stone in the appropriate pillars. Don't worry, one pillar is already completed. With all the tablets in place, players need only to claim the weapon for themselves.

Excalibur's traits are as follows:

  • Mythical Greatsword
  • "A legendary sword that can only be wielded by someone who has the makings of a king. Legends say it can break anything."
  • Perk: Heavy Finishers and Criticals blind all enemies around.
  • Attack: 108
  • Speed: 40
  • Stun: 99
  • Critical Chance: 76
  • Weight: 16
