The Adept Big Ones Spec in Destiny 2 is a new weapon mod released this season, and here's everything you need to know about it. Adept weapons were a staple of the original Destiny, but were missing from Destiny 2 for a long time. However, Adept weapons returned for Beyond Light, along with exclusive Adept mods for those weapons. The Big Ones Spec is one such example.
Adept Big Ones Spec: Everything You Need to Know
As you can see from YouTuber Ehroar, the Adept Big Ones Spec is essentially a hybrid of two normal weapon mods, the Major Spec and the Boss Spec. Both specs provide a damage increase of 7.7% against targets who are either majors or bosses. However, those specs are only limited to majors or bosses, meaning a boss spec will have no effect against a major type enemy and vice versa. With the Adept Big Ones Spec, both major and boss-type enemies are affected, meaning it does the job of two mods. So, it's obviously very useful, but how much weight does it have in the current meta?
The answer is unfortunately not that much. it's less of an indictment on the mod, but more about the general meta around power weapons in PVE. None of the adept weapons are super great at boss damage, as there are far better alternatives. This holds especially true in more difficult activities, where it's unlikely for any adept weapons to be used for high-level DPS. For players in love with an adept weapon and must take it with you, then the Adept Big Ones Spec can certainly be helpful. They should just know they're missing out on some better and stronger alternatives.
