Alliance players in World of Warcraft Classic won't have to go far to complete this quest, "An Old Gift," in Outland on the Hellfire Penninsula.

When they first enter through the Dark Portal, Alliance and Horde players will find themselves stepping foot into the burnt, barren landscape of the Hellfire Penninsula. This is the very first territory in the remnants of Draenor—now known only as Outland.

Each faction has their posts. The Alliance has Honor Hold to the south where most of their forces will reconvene and gather strength, staring out at the towers of the Hellfire Citadel. This is where players can pick up the quest, "An Old Gift."

"An Old Gift" Quest Guide

The quest giver is a priest named Father Malgor Devidicus. When spoken to, he will regale adventurers of his experience with the legendary Turalyon, and how he gifted a book called the "Mysteries of the Light" to him before they departed for the first time.

"During the campaign and the ensuing years, he never forgot to read his daily passage to the men," he says, "When he left us again, he gave the book back to me."

Unfortunately, Father Devidicus then left the book in what was his quarters, just south of the armory—which is now overrun with undead.

Players can find the book at the coordinates (54, 86) sitting on the steps of what was a small building now burnt to the ground. Simply pick it up and return it to Father Devidicus for some touching sentiments about Turalyon and a couple gold pieces for your trouble.

Some players recommend completing this quest alongside "Unyielding Souls," as the two objectives tend to overlap.

Rewards for this quest are:

  • 2 Gold
  • 9800 Experience Points
  • +250 Reputation with Honor Hold
