Hokko Life, an upcoming PC game, now has a page on Steam and is coming to early access this year.

Hokko Life is the work of a one-person studio, and as a result will take a significant amount of time to release the full version. Creator Robert Tatnell explained that the Early Access version is to deliver a "solid core experience" for players while still perhaps being a bit "rough around the edges" in some areas, via the Steam page's Q&A section.

The game, which has similar elements to Animal Crossing, will come to early access sometime this year with plans for a full release in sometime in Q1 or Q2 2021.

Much like Animal Crossing, Hokko Life puts players in the shoes of a newcomer to a town full of talking animals.

Also like in Animal Crossing, players may craft items such as clothing for their avatar and decorate using furniture. They can also choose to spend their time hunting bugs, fishing, or completing all sorts of requests for villagers in order to befriend them.

According to the Steam page Q&A, farming elements are coming to the game as well, perhaps filling a Stardew Valley-shaped hole in your PC gaming repertoire.

At this time, we don't have a more specific release timeline for the Early Access version than sometime in 2020.

You can add Hokko Life to your Steam Wishlist to receive updates on when it will be available.

Animal Crossing's upcoming Nintendo Switch debut is planned for March 20, 2020.
