Animal Crossing New Horizons Terraform means you can shape your island for the first time in Animal Crossing.
In the February Animal Crossing New Horizons direct, it was revealed that for the first time in the series, you can change the land and structure of your island.

The Direct shows that you can freely sculpt the landscape by removing and building cliffs and creating and removing waterways. You can also pave paths and build bridges, ladders and stairs.
It seems that the ability to terraform will only be available late in the game "once the island is fully decked out," according to Nintendo.
Terraforming is just one of the new customization features new to Animal Crossing. There is also greater customization in furniture, as most of the items will be made with the new crafting system. You can truly personalize your Animal Crossing experience and make it your own.
