Animal Well Release Date

In January 2023, YouTubers videogamedunkey and Leah Bee announced the first game to launch from their indie game publisher, Bigmode. The content-creating couple showed a sneak peek at the title, Animal Well. In it, we see a blob-like creature exploring an area filled with dangerous animals. Bigmode recently confirmed a release date, and players cannot wait to dive into the depths of Animal Well’s surreal world.

Animal Well Release Date

Animal Well will launch on May 9, 2024. It will be available on PC via Steam, PS5, and Nintendo Switch, though the developer hasn’t announced any information about releasing the game on Xbox. According to the official game website, it will cost $24.99.

Judging from the trailers, Animal Well will surely take players on an enchanting journey. The Metroidvania involves battling formidable enemies, solving puzzles, collecting helpful items, and discovering the many secrets of the mysterious well.

Billy Basso developed Animal Well himself. He spent years working on larger studios, including Netherrealm and Phosphor Games, but Animal Well is the first game he worked on alone.  

Videogamedunkey, known for his funny video game critiques, and Leah Bee, known for video game streaming, launched their video game publisher in September 2022. In an IGN interview, the couple stated they’d like to focus on promoting the best indie games, ensuring the titles get the attention they deserve. The goal is to “help good games succeed and help them continue to succeed into the future.” 

Independent developers can submit an application to Bigmode to have their games considered for publication.
