Respawn have revealed the next Legend to join Apex Legends — defensive hero Catalyst.

Revealed through an Apex Legends Stories from the Outlands trailer, new hero Catalyst is a defensive hero and the first transgender woman to join the Apex line-up. Catalyst, who's real name is Tressa Smith, is described as an "experienced terraformer and defensive conjurer." She uses her "remarkable control of ferrofluid to manipulate the battlefield."

Catalyst will be voiced by Meli Grant and fans are given a glimpse at the latest hero's backstory in the recent Stories from the Outlands animation, titled Last Hope.

Catalyst will join the roster in the upcoming Season 15: Eclipse. Not much official information has been revealed about the Apex's next season, but Respawn has confirmed that a new map is on the way. Players will also be able to use the new Gifting feature, beginning next season.

Apex Legends Season 15: Eclipse is set to begin on Nov. 1.
