A PS5 version of Apex Legends has reportedly been spotted on the PSN database.
Fans have been anxiously awaiting signs that an upgraded version of Apex Legends would be heading to the PlayStation 5. Now, thanks to Twitter account @PlayStationSize, it seems that their prayers have been heard.
The Twitter account is known for looking through the PlayStation Network database hunting for new and interesting entires. Earlier today, the account posted that they'd discovered an entry for a PS5 version of Apex Legends, sitting at a minimum download size of 80GB.
So far, the game has been running on the latest generation of consoles through backwards compatibility, supporting only the PS4 and Xbox One versions.
While an upgraded version was likely inevitable as we move deeper into the current gen cycle, the wait has meant that players have since been missing out on any upgraded features. Having full support for the PS5's DualSense controller could be a welcome experience for many PlayStation players.
Apex Legends Could be Getting a PS5 Upgrade
A release date has yet to be announced or officially confirmed by Respawn Entertainment. This PS5 listing could spark good news for Xbox Series X|S players too, as a new gen version will likely be heading their way alongside the PS5.
In the meantime, fans will have to make do with the current 60fps version available. Though, knowing an upgraded version is on the horizon could help quell those sleepless nights.
In other news, Respawn recently released a small patch to curb some of the game's recent exploits. The Rampage and Sentinel weapons have been reactivated, with a minor balance made to the Rampage. Be sure to check it out and see what's changed.
