Ryan Lastimosa, 3D art director at Respawn Entertainment, shared on Twitter the original concepts for a few popular weapons. Apex Legends is based in the universe of Titanfall, and while that fanbase was bummed to hear Titanfall 3 was put on hold for the battle royale, they still got to play in their favorite series.

And while Season 5 was delayed, Respawn Entertainment is still trying to provide some sort of content in the mean time. A new battle armor event was added Friday, and devs still get on social media to share other lore information to the fans.

"Here's a series of concepts of the R101, R201, R301 rifles and the DMR from Titanfall and Apex Legends," explained Lastimosa. "This weapon has evolved a great deal from 2010 to now. The R101 platform was to originally be a modular system that allowed rapid field customization. The user could switch."

You can even see the early designs of the Peacekeeper. The powerful shotgun is lever shotgun using energy-based ammo. Granted, in the game, you simply pick up shotgun ammo. With this much information on the history of the weapons, Respawn is clearly capable of making a Titanfall 3 when they can.
