Apex Legends developers plan to continue evaluating the "reveal meta" following some balance changes to Seer in the latest patch.
The latest Apex Legends patch notes dropped earlier this week and fans have already finished combing through them for any points of interest. Aside from the collection event, Winter Express, and Wattson heirloom, the top conversations have centered on changes to legends and the game's quality of life. A few have zeroed in on a short developer note near the top of the explained rebalances—specifically having to do with Seer.
Apex Legends Devs to "Evaluate the Reveal Meta"
The changes to Seer specifically affect his Focus of Attention ability. Developers have scaled down the detonation delay following major nerfs to the character after his release. According to a developer's note at the very bottom, this decision was sparked by information gathered during his last four months of live play. Developers found the delay, while "healthier," to be "a little too sluggish."
It's the last sentence that has players' interest piqued.
"We want to improve its feel while continuing to evaluate the reveal meta as a whole." The note reads.
It seems like loyal Seer mains may soon be rewarded for sticking with the character through the nerfs. Following the changes, many players abandoned the then-over-powered Legend, causing his pick rate to bottom out almost instantly. Time will tell if the proposed attention from Respawn will cause his popularity to spike once again.
Along with these changes, developers have also implemented a custom reticle color system and announced the next collection event: Raiders. Fans looking to learn more about the upcoming changes can find more information on the official patch notes published on the Apex Legends website.
