The Apex Legends Fight Night update went live Jan. 6. However, it came with quite a few surprises.

Caustic's expected buff of reducing his cooldown time on his Nox Gas Traps was expected to be brought down from 25 seconds to 20. Many players were relieved that Caustic didn't receive the buff, as there was some blowback from fans over social media. The nerf to our newest Legend, Horizon, increased her cooldown time for her Gravity Lift ability. The increase in cooldown went from 16 to 21 seconds.

Developers did take to Twitter to explain the retraction of the Caustic buff. Daniel Klein, who is a lead developer at Respawn, had the following tweet to put out.

Outside of the updates to Legends there were some other noteworthy changes. There was adjustments to the sizes of the rings for rounds five and six. Ring five will be bigger, increasing in size from 1,500 unit radius, to 2,000 unit radius. Ring Six will be the last Ring, however, it will close slowly over 100 seconds, "somewhere near the center of Ring Five."
