An Apex Legends leak appears to have revealed how the Firing Range training area will change in an upcoming update.

The Firing Range has been in Apex Legends ever since the game first launched in February 2019, and over the years since it's remained largely unchanged. It provides a way for players to test out all the game's Legends, abilities, weapons and attachments in a stress-free environment, with nothing but a bunch of targets to menace them.

In a video that purports to leak the first footage of an upcoming "Fanatic" energy pistol, players noticed an in-game console that appears able to change how the targets in the Firing Range are arranged. It may even be able to make the targets move, which would be a first for the Firing Range, and would provide new ways for players to warm up or practice their aim.

When Respawn Entertainment released Apex Legends on mobile devices last year, it included a Firing Range with a wide array of new features different still from those shown in this leak. Those features have yet to make their way to the console and PC versions of the game. It's unclear if they ever will, and Respawn has yet to confirm plans to add the improvements shown in the leaked video.
