Apex Legends players are fuming after it was discovered that the melee exploit has returned to the game. Here is what we know so far.

Apex Legends has played host to a number of annoying exploits and glitches that have given players an unfair advantage in the arena. While Respawn have been quick to deal with many of these issues, there is always the possibility that some old enemies will make their return at some point down the line. This has proven to be the case with the return of the melee damage exploit.

For those of you who may not be familiar with this issue, the melee exploit was a mechanic that appeared in the early stages of Apex's release that enables players to perform a rapid series of melee attacks on opponents. As shown in this clip by Reddit user Xyno_Slayne, the players utilizing this exploit appear as though they have been ripped straight out of a kung-fu movie.

While at first glance it does look a little silly, the problem with this exploit is that, when it is done right, players can do up to 100 damage to players. This can be a serious problem in the early stages of a match or particularly later in a game when shields are scarce.

A lot of players, who have also found themselves on the receiving end of this melee exploit, have noted that a lot of it seems to center on the Apex Legends character Horizon. Players have also noted that while Respawn initially patched this exploit back in Season 5, Horizon was not a part of the game at that point in time. This means that it is highly likely that some of the Respawn developers may have missed something when they were adding her to the game in relation to this exploit.

No word has come out on the side of Respawn Entertainment as of yet. Seeing as this is sure to cause a lot of players some unexpected annoyance, it is not outside the realm of possibility that Respawn will be looking to patch this issue once and for all. Until that time comes, we recommend you pack a few extra shields, and maybe a shotgun or two.
