Apex Legends may be receiving a new game mode. In a tweet, The speculation come via a tweet from the Apex Legends News account. Respawn Entertainment says in the tweet, "Later this year, we'll launch new ways to play #ApexLegends that take us beyond battle royale." This opens the door to a handful of possibilities. However, a team death match style game seems to fit the bill the most.

Apex Legends Might be Going Beyond Battle Royale

Team deathmatch has been speculated since the release of the game back in February of 2019. However, the theory started to gain a bit more traction after October of 2020. Around that time, an arena mode was found in the games code. The mode was inaccessible to players, and still seemed to be in the works. It was worth noting however, that King's Canyon appeared to be the setting for this unreleased mode.

It is still unclear if a new game mode would be permanent or not. Apex has held a multitude of Limited Time Events over the past three years. However, it’s also not uncommon to see a limited time event used as a test run for a game mode to gauge interest in a permanent mode.

Players eagerly await what the team at Respawn has in store for them.
