Apex Legends mobile could finally be realized, according to a recent earnings call from EA.

EA states, “We are in advanced negotiations to bring Apex Legends to China and to mobile."

This doesn't come much of a surprise as mobile and China are two massive markets. Both are dominated by PUBG. While Fortnite might be the most popular game in the world at the moment, PUBG has a stranglehold on mobile and in China. It would make sense that EA and Apex Legends wants a piece of that pie.

The content for Apex Legends is rather slow compared to Fortnite, but there has been some information about the next character for Apex Legends. Shroud knows what the next Legend will be and shared his feelings on Twitch. Basically, the new Legend will be a more situational character, who can dominate in certain scenarios. But overall, a rather bland character.
