Apex Legends Next Major Update: What to Expect

Apex Legends is set to receive its next major update soon for the first time since the start of Season 7.

As announced by Respawn Entertainment in a dev blog, the Holo-Day Bash event is scheduled to be the main content drop for the battle royale title through the rest of 2020. As standard with the seasonal event, expect to see the return of the Winter Express LTM, plenty of item shop sales and some new wintery cosmetics starting on Dec. 1.

Following the conclusion of the Holo-Day Bash on Jan. 4, Respawn will be looking to start off the new year with a bang, especially with Apex Legends’ two-year anniversary on the horizon.

Although the exact launch time of Apex Legends' next major patch is yet to be announced, here are all the details we know about it so far.

Confirmed Fixes Coming to Apex Legends

According to Respawn's Apex Legends Trello board, these issues will be resolved in a future patch.

• Invalid or expired tokens errors
• Using an Octane jump pad can prevent user from jumping
• Lag within the lobby (Steam)
• Issues with player names showing up as long tags (Steam)
• Placing Sheila on the Trident will cause a crash

Keep in mind that Respawn has stated that “the board will not show everything,” so more fixes to other issues should be on the way as well.

Rumored Changes Coming to Apex Legends

Thanks to hints left by developers or the nature of major updates in the past, here are some things we expect to see from Respawn sometime in January.

• Wraith hitbox nerfs
• Octane kit buffs
• Mark all as seen option for new unlocks in menus
• Crossplay improvements
• Weapon balancing
• Map updates
• New cosmetics
