Apex Legends Predator RP Reaches New Heights in Season 14
By Nathan Fusco

Snagging Predator on Apex Legends is one of the most difficult achievements in gaming. Just the thought of becoming one of the top 750 players is daunting in itself, but what if the goalpost kept moving?
In Season 14 the RP gains were changed and the cap was removed. Now the threshold of hitting Predator continues to climb with the output of the current player base.
We are 12 days away from the end of Split 1, and the RP threshold to reach Pred is at 35,656 RP on PC.

In S12 split 1, that threshold was only reached 5 days before end of split.
The number of masters/preds is however still much lower right now. pic.twitter.com/xNqZVX2SMQ
The RP required to hit Predator at the moment is 35,000 with a week left in the split. Now, most players that were going to hit Predator would have by now, but if there were any remaining players trying to snag it before the split is over, they're basically screwed.
And based on previous seasons, the total number of Master and Predator players has decreased, meaning only the best-of-the-best are setting records while the rest are struggling.
Add in the fact of lobbies accidentally placing gold-level players with Predators and players can endlessly grind their RP to unfathomable levels. This makes it difficult for players to break in and lock down the Predator level in the first place. It really feels like Predator is simply a race to the top during the first few weeks, then grinding endlessly so others can't join. If you don't have the time to play eight hours a day, it doesn't matter how good you are, you're not reaching Predator.
